خواطر مرت في بالي

- أكتب ما يخطه عقلك من طريق قبل أن تمحوه الأيام , فهي حقاً كفيلة بذلك.
- إصرف مافي الجيب يأتيك ما في الغيب . مقولة ناقصه ، حري بنا أن نقول أصرف مافي الجيب فيما أمرك الله به و أقتصد و نمي مالك بالزكاة و الصدقة ولا تبذر فسيأتيك الله بالرزق.
- الرجل يقول (لا) بطريقة واحدة ، و المرأة تقولها بألف طريقة.
- لنتعلم قول لا , فهي فن من فنون الدفاع عن النفس . قل لا لمن يدخن بجوارك ، قل لا لمن يحاول تضييع وقتك , قل لا لمن يحاول أن يغرر بك و يرديك المهالك . قل لا لنفسك لتمنعها عن المعاصي و التبذير . قل لا و لاتجامل على حساب نفسك. فهم لا يهمهم أمرك و لو كان ذلك لكان حري بهم أن لا يطلبوه منك .
- دوماً إستشر أهل الخبرة من الصالحين و من ثم استشر أهم واحد “نفسك” أكثر من مرة ، فإنها تعلم عنك أكثر من الآخرين.
- فن إضاعة المال من أسهل الفنون ، لا تحتاج إلى معلم .
- المكابرة فن ، و العناد فن ، و الغباء فن ، و التخبط فن ، والجهل فن ، و الإستمرار فيما سبق فن ، فلو إجتمعت في شخص لأصبح مسرحاً متنقلا، و الفرجة بالمجان.
- سعيك للرزق لا يمنع أبدا بأن تتوقف و تنظر خلفك و ترى الأثر و التأثير، فأن كانت الأمور إيجابيه فأكمل ، وإلا ….أعد حساباتك.
- الكفاية أمر نسبي ، يختلف من شخص لآخر. فما يكفيني قد لا يكفي آخر ، و ما لا يكفي الآخر قد يكفي و يزيد عند جمع من الناس. فالأمر ليس بالكمية و لكن بالكيفية التي يرئ الكفاف بها.
- لا تجب قبل أن تُسأل ، فَتَسرُعُك فيه من السَفه مايَحمل الآخرين تحاشي أخذ إجابتك وإن كانت صحيحة.
Major Exams
Major exams for the two courses I am taking in KFUPM have passed safely. I admit that I did not know how to study for these exams. I didn’t know where to begin, how to revise nor even what to memorize.
And now, the second round of exams are coming up soon and I am in a worse position. I have been lagging behind in the reading and had to skip a class to catch a flight.
My only hopw for this round is to start early. I do have to read the chapters for both courses and compile a summary.
Pray for me it will be fun.
KFUPM: Confirming your registration
Never assume, they always tell you. And they are completely right. I had to pay 150 riyals yesterday because of committing this horrible crime.
Two days ago I started my first semester in my master’s degree. I was admitted into the MBA program but I am trying to switch to Engineering Management for a reduction of 24 credit hours. After I was admitted into the program, I managed to register in two classes last week.
I attended my first classes on Sunday and was pleased to meet two nice professors. Then, on Monday I received a text message on my cell phone telling me that I should confirm my registration or my classes will be dropped by Wednesday 4 pm.
Being a graduate of another university I was not aware of KFUPM’s policies. I called up a Ahmed Barradah, a close friend and a graduate student in KFUPM. He told me that I can confirm my registration from the portal of the University. I logged into the portal and found out that I can’t confirm online due to missing the deadline.
When I checked the university’s e-mail address I found an e-mail instructing me to go to building #10 to follow up on my registration hold. When I arrived at building #10 I discovered that I need a student ID, which I can’t issue till next week, or a paper from graduate studies allowing me to confirm my registration.
I don’t know about you, but I find this system very redundant. What is the purpose of confirming my registration. If I changed my mind regarding the courses I can personally drop them.
But according to the person in charge of late confirmations in building #10, the confirmation is meant to automatically drop the classes for the students that register and never attend classes. He insisted that these students will owe the university money and should be dealt with by the policy of confirming a registration. Well, the policy needs more work and refinement especially when it comes to the fine. Why should I be charged if I couldn’t confirm my registration in a two day period? They could have easily extended it to a week and sent me a reminding text message before I was actually late.
I was really upset and argued with them for 15 minutes. But they seemed happy with their policy.
Lesson learned.
